Leeds/Bradford Meetup - 12th February 2005

Details:
Given that Adam and Hally live in Leeds, and we have trouble travelling very far, we thought we'd arrange a meetup in the Leeds area. The original plan was to do the tour of the Tetley Brewery, and then have a meal in a bar/resturant in the centre of Leeds...

Of course, we didn't count on Tetley Brewery being closed down when they started re-developing the wharfeside...

So, we've decided to be a little bit more cultured, and sophisticated.

Therefore, we are now meeting at Salts Mill, in Saltaire, near Shipley, at 11 am, on Saturday. From there, we're be going round the art gallery and museum. Once that little bit of culture is done, we'll be hopping on a canal barge for a hours trip down the Leeds-Liverpool canal, with a buffet laid on. This isn't for the faint of heart, since we'll be taking on a lock or two....

Of course, once the trip's over, theres plenty of good pubs in the Shipley area to have a drink in...

Hotels:
We have had a couple of requests for hotel information in Shipley. While we can't recommend a single hotel, here is a link to a list of hotels in the Shipley area..

Bookings:
We need around 15 to 25 bookings to make the canal trip possible. Please can you e-mail me if you are definately coming to the meet before the 14th January. I need to book tickets and will let you know the cost of these as it will vary with numbers.

Prices:
Entry to Salts Mill is free, but the canal trip and buffet lunch will cost around 15 pounds each (depending on numbers). Deposits will be required nearer the actual date.
